Oldsmobile’s version of the GM medium-priced compact, the F-85 shared it’s body in the sedan and four door station wagon with the Pontiac Tempest and Buick Special. On the other hand the Oldsmobile 215 Cubic inch Aluminum V-8 had its own Cylinder heads, pistons, carburation and intake manifold. For 61 Oldsmobile created a lighter weight version of the Hydra-matic transmission. For the time the F-85 was considered “smaller” but it still had room for six.
