Studebaker Restyled the Lark for 1961

In 61 the Lark go a new hood with a flatter cowl than previous years,

which allowed a larger windshield and a lower over-all height, other changed included dual headlights, restyled side trim, different rear quarter roof, a more attractive back glass and a new rear deck lid.

1961 Studebaker Hawk

The Hawk sport coupe was the one product that Studebaker produced that everyone could agree they wanted. For 1961 it was produced on a 120 inch wheel base, 289 Cubic inch V-8 rated at 210 HP (225 with the optional four barrel carburettor and dual exhaust), Changes for 61 were four-speed synchromesh floor shift transmission and deeply upholstered Bucket Seats.

In 1961 there were multiple changes made in the LARK. The hood and Cowl were lowered and flattened to improve driver vision, the Regal model sported dual headlamps. The rear quarter panels, rear deck, “C” posts and back lights were changed that year. Underneath the hood they offered a  over-head-valve six with 170-cubic inch producing 112 horsepower, or they offered on all models 180 horsepower 259-cubic-inch V-8.
