Back in the mid-century every kid dreamed about Hot Rods, even before we could drive ourselves we built models, and Monogram built a business catering to teen aged boys with dreams.
In the late 50’s to early 60’s everyone wanted a go cart and go street racing. Later on police started to shut them down until people organized racing on tracks.
In the 50s one sign of the good life that everyone thought they were working for was to own a boat, and outboard offered a lower threshold for people to enter the market.
In the50’s and 60’s Post war vets were coming home to limited options for homes for their families. Kits with readi-cut material were offered as one option for vets to find their dream homes, returnees had some money and a lot of man hours making this suitable for many people.
