Chrysler kept the same basic chassis they had been using in 1960, but they created a new style rear quarter and deck area. The rear deck contour was raised to increase luggage room. Mechanically, the car remained unchanged with the 283 cubic inch V-8 engine coupled with three or four speed manual or automatic transmission.
In 1967 the Corvette Sportster came with new front fenders, new wheel trim rings, hubcaps a new wide back-up light centered at rear-end panel. Triple 2-barrel versions of 427-cubic inch V-8 was offered.
